AFCON 2017: Micho Threatens To Quit Uganda

News from Uganda is that the national team coach Milutin Sredojevic has threatened the country’s football association by saying he will quit if they don’t pay him owed monies.

The Serbian is also reported to have suggested that he could consider legal routes should the FA fail to honour their contractual obligations.

The BBC website has it that Sredojevic has told the Ugandan FA to fulfil its contractual obligations or he will quit and take legal action.

Latest reports indicate that he has been linked with a number of coaching posts, such as Ghana and South Africa.

‘Micho’ led the Cranes to their first Africa Cup of Nations tournament in 39 years, but said he is owed wages.

“If we can sort the situation amicably, that is good and well. But if not, I deeply regret I shall have to go the legal way,” he said to BBC Sport.

“I have a contract until the 2019 Nations Cup but the bags of a coach are always half-packed – ready to stay, ready to go.

“Uganda needs to decide. I am really open to everything because offers are coming.

“Uganda needs to provide better facilities, logistics and to fulfil contractual obligations – if they do that, we can continue because I am already heading the project in the right direction.”

Despite finishing at the bottom of Group D with one point, having lost to the Black Stars of Ghana, the Pharaohs of Egypt as well as a draw against the Eagles of Mali, Uganda received positive reviews in Gabon.
