Kenyan Vice President William Ruto Explains Why He Is Linked To Corruption, Land Grabs

Kenyan Deputy President, William Ruto has explained why Kenyans link him to land grabbing and corruption scandals in the country.

Referring to himself as the “son of a peasant farmer”, Ruto blamed some individuals whom he said were not happy about his rise to power for maligning his name.

Ruto said this while speaking to journalists in New York.

Ruto rose from the ranks of a chicken seller at a market along Eldoret – Malaba highway, to the second most powerful position in the country.

He has been linked to various land grabbing scandals in Nairobi and Eldoret.

Ruto, however, said all the accomplishments in his life were a result of his hard work,International Business Times said.

He added that his ‘enemies’ needed to understand that in Kenya, every child had a chance irrespective of their background.
