Isaac Terer Urges Kenyans To Register As Voters

Terer urges Kenyans to register as voters Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker Isaac Terer has has decried low registration of voters despite them having Identity cards.

He said over 50% of Kenyans in possession of identity cards have not registered as voters making it hard for them to take part in 2017 General elections.

“I am shocked by by the registrar of person’s recent report where it showed that over 9. 5 Million Kenyans who have identity cards have not registered as voters ” he said.

Speaking at the Uasingishu county Assembly premises on Thursday during a medical camp organised by Eldoret Hospital Terer said, for one to eligible to vote one should register. ”

Registering as a voter is a fundamental right of every Kenyans as enshrined in the constitution that guarantee one to vote and decide who will lead us in the next five years “he said.

He added, “Kenyans should collect their identity cards since there thousands of uncollected ID cards in lying in county registry offices,” he said.

On students being involved in arson activities Terer condemned the act with the strongest words possible and called for sovereignty and dialogue in dealing with the matter.

“I blame the NSIS for not doing their work well how cab over 100 schools go on flames without their knowledge, I think they are sleeping in their job and should be shown the door, “he said.

He said it will not be business as usual and that all stakeholders should sit on a round table and look for way forward to end this menace.
