The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Wednesday okayed the continued detention of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki, reportsPunch.
The court ruled that the continued detention of Dasuki since December 29, 2015 did not flout the court orders granting him bail.
Dasuki had gone before the appellate court to challenge the competence of charges the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) preferred against him before two different Judges of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory at Maitama.
He prayed the appellate court to not only discharge him from the charges, but to also set aside the ruling of the high court Judges which declined to void his arrest and detention by the Federal Government since November 3, 2015.
Vanguard reports that the three-man panel of the Court of Appeal, in a unanimous judgment, on Wednesday, affirmed the high court judges rulings to the effect that Dasuki’s re-arrest and continued detention did not flout the orders granting bail to him.
In the lead judgment, Justice Abdul Aboki, who led the panel dismissed Dasuki’s appeal as lacking in merit.
