The decomposing corpse of a pregnant woman has been discovered in the Isoko South LGA of Delta State following inter-communal clashes in the area, Naij reports.
The deceased, identified as Afor Sammy, was recovered along a bush path by members of a local vigilante group following clashes over land ownership.
A source, who pleaded anonymity, revealed that Sammy had been killed on her farm, stating that she had been missing for four days when her body was recovered.
The grizzly discovery follows a number of clashes that have plagued Delta State recently, with many lives having been lost as a result of the carnage,Vanguard reports.
A crisis between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh was heightened recently through the sacking of the Divisional Police headquarters in Ogbe Ijoh.
During the fracas that later ensued, soldiers from the 3rd Battalion were deposited into the area to restore calm and prevent any further fatalities.
