A police corporal has shocked residents in the Ekiti LGA of Ekiti State after it was found that he had killed his colleague over N300,000, Naij reports.
Daramola Tosin, a police officer in Ekiti, has been suspended following the shooting of his colleague, following which he withdrew N300,000 from the victim’s bank account without his consent.
The victim, identified only as Shuaib, had entrusted Tosin with his bank card after he fell ill.
Shuaib was allegedly tending to the call of nature when Tosin shot him with an AK-47 rifle and buried his corpse behind the police barracks.
Sam Okaula, Kwara State Police Commissioner, confirmed Tosin’s arrest while claiming that a discreet investigation has been conducted into the matter.
Tosin has since been arraigned before an Ilorin Magistrate’s Court, with his case being adjourned to June 21 for mention, Punch reports.
