DPP Asked To Charge KWS Rangers Involved In Extra-Judicial Killings

A lobby group is pushing for the prosecution of three Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) officers for alleged extrajudicial killings in Isiolo County.

The Independent Medico Legal Unit (IMLU) executive director, Peter Kiama said the names of the officers have been presented to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

He said probe established that the officers participated in torture and extrajudicial killings of Kinna residents last year.

The probe was initiated after clashes between KWS rangers and area residents that left one person dead and 12 others injured.

Residents also said more than 13 people have gone missing in the last two years.
