Residents of Buwama trading center in central Uganda district of Mpigi are in shock after a 24 year old pregnant sex worker killed a 57 year old prominent businessman in a lodge.
Charles Mpande last evening went to one of the bars in Buwama and met there a sex worker only identified as Christine.
According to one of the local leaders ,Joshua Mukasa,Mpande was seen buying several beers for the woman as he seemed to be striking a deal with her.
”After taking several bottles of beer, the two were seen entering Mafu-mafu lodge at around 10.00 pm holding each other.But very early in the morning at around 5.30 am, there is someone who saw the sex worker with her friends carrying the body of Mpande from the lodge and dumping it on the roadside,” said Mukasa.
Police was alerted and came and removed the body.The suspected killer,Christine and 7 others have been arrested by police to help in investigations.
Police officer,Ken Kivumbi who is working on the case said that preliminary investigations indicated that Mpande could have been strangled.
”Some sex workers are criminals.Once they see their client with a lot of money,they connive with some thugs and kill them and share the money,” said Kivumbi who added on that Christine and her colleagues will soon be taken to court to be charged with murder.
It has become common for some unscrupulous sex workers in Uganda to kill their clients and robbing their money/In the last three months at least foe men have been killed by sex workers in different parts of the country.
