CORD Leader Raila Odinga Is Misleading Jacob Juma Family’

According to Jubilee Coalition MPs, CORD leader Raila Odinga is misleading the family of the slain businessman Jacob Juma.

The MPs, who spoke on their way from Nairobi to Kiambu town Sunday, said the CORD fraternity had sensed defeat in next year’s elections and that is why they were engaging in protests and maligning people.

The MPs said the Opposition knew that the Government had nothing to do with Juma’s death but were only engaging in politics to popularize their party.

They argued that Juma’s unfortunate death was being used to whip up emotions in Western Kenya where Jubilee was making inroads.

“They are not mourning with the family of Juma. They are celebrating because they are using it for their personal ambitions. They are saying this is what we should use to finish Jubilee. That is very evident. Everyone can see through this script,”Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria said.

He said the leaders and other individuals had hijacked Juma’s death for selfish political reasons with the hope of using it in next year’s General Election.

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa said some of individuals in CORD had met and hatched a plot to use the death to malign the Deputy President.

“The Opposition is collecting anything; they are desperate because they know they will lose the elections,” Ichungwa said.

They told the Opposition to stop hiding in funerals and misfortunes of other people in an attempt to score political points. The MPs asked Cord leaders to give any information they have on Juma’s death to investigators.

“If they are interested in the justice of those killed they should not take advantage of the misfortunes of the late Juma’s family,” he added.

The opposition has accused the government of playing a role in Juma’s killing which took place ten days ago after he was accosted by hit men and shot at 10 times along Ngong road.
