A bodaboda driver has actually passed away instantaneously while his passenger suffered severe injuries, after the motorbike was struck by an approaching car along Nanyuki-Meru roadway.
According to eye witnesses, the operator of the motorcycle lost control and hit the Toyota Probox head on at the Likii River Bridge.
Police officers from Nanyuki police station arrived at the scene and took the passenger to Nanyuki Cottage hospital while the deceased’s body was taken to Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.

Laikipia East bodaboda Sacco chairman, Francis Macharia noted that the government was not keen in erecting bumps in areas identified as black spots.
He said bodaboda operators were recently forced to erect speed bumps along Nanyuki-Laikipia Airbase road following numerous road accidents.
He noted that their members were being hit from time to time by speeding vehicles and efforts to convince the government to erect bumps fell on deaf ears.
