Standard 8 Pupil Arrested With Weapons, And Police Uniform.

Police in Kisumu have actually detained a Standard 8 student that was discovered with drugs, weapons and police uniform.

The 16-year-old boy was reportedly arrested while marketing bhang on Saturday throughout a swoop at Sewage Estate in Manyatta, however his 2 partners escaped.

According to Standard Digital, one of the teen’s accomplices fled while the other was away on a trip.

Cases of students peddling drugs and engaging in crime have been on the increase.

Last week, police raided a hostel at UoN where they recovered drugs and bloodstained knives believed to have been used in the recent violence following the disputed SONU election.

During the raid that was conducted by officers from the Special Crimes Prevention Unit, Flying Squad and the Anti-Narcotics Unit, police found 25kg of bhang, nine machetes, police sweaters, boots, balaclavas, watchmen’s uniforms, money-making machine and fake notes.

According to The Star, the operation was in response to claims by the National Authority for Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) chair, John Mututho that there existed a drug cartel in the University.
