Journalist Joshua Sang, whose case was recently terminated at International Criminal Court (ICC), has finally revealed which political position he will vie for in 2017.
Sang, who had kept Kenyans guessing on his next move three days after his acquittal Thursday, told journalists that he will vie for the Trans-Nzoia County Senator’s seat in the coming elections.
“I can authoritatively say that I will be in the race for the Trans-Nzoia County senate seat. I have received overwhelming support from the residents from the region which is also my home County,” he said.
ICC judges Chile Eboe-Osuji and Robert Fremr on Tuesday declared the case facing Deputy President William Ruto and Sang a ‘mistrial’, setting them free in the case that has dragged for over six years.
“I will seek the seat on a Jubilee ticket. In the meantime, I want to restart my career in media which I was forced to cut short by starting a Christian TV and radio station before I plunge into active politics,” said the former Kass Radio show host.
He was accompanied by his ICC lead defense counsel Kigen Katwa at the press briefing which was conducted at a Nairobi Hotel.
