A Zimbabwean man has appeared in court for killing his friend, while injuring another over monies they owed him, reports the state-ownedChronicle newspaper.
Nkosiyazi Siziba stabbed his friend, Edica Ncube in the stomach after he failed to pay back the R3 that he owed him.
Ncube died on admission at the hospital.
The court heard that following the incident, Siziba also turned on another friend, Melusi Ncube, who allegedly had failed to pay back his R5 and again stabbed him in the stomach.
Ncube was admitted at a nearby hospital where he was said to be recovering.
The trial was postponed to April 13.
The Zimbabwe Situation, reported late last year that there was a surge in the number of crimes committed in the southern African country.
According to the report, Deputy Commissioner General Josephine Shambare raised concern over the increase of serious crime rates in the country.
Shambare said at the time that the police commandant was worried about the slow rate of crime investigation, which in turn had resulted in a huge backlog of cases at the Magistrate’s Courts.
