President Uhuru Kenyatta is leading other Presidential candidates in recently released opinion polls. Here’s why.
The President, according to polls released by Infotrak leads CORD leader Raila Odinga by 11 points in recently released polls ahead of the 2017 elections.
The reason for his lead is simple.
The President is in the lead because Kenyans believe that he is the right man to lead the nation and especially in the face of a weak opposition.
CORD leader Raila Odinga and other opposition leaders have yet to show seriousness in their campaigns and are yet to show Kenyans why they should replace the President.
This is despite the current government facing a number of serious corruption scandals.
” Uhuru leads because Kenyans do not see an alternative to his leadership,” Political Analyst Michael Njenga says.
” There is a belief that if there was one strong candidate to push Uhuru, he or she would be doing well but the current crop is facing unprecedented issues and they seem not to end,” he added.
The President, is the only guaranteed politician to stand for the Presidency come the 2017 General Elections, with the rest not yet sure to win their respective nomination races.
