Gunmen Attack APC Leaders In Rivers

Gunmen suspected to be thugs of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  on Monday attacked leaders of the All Progressives Congress made up of national and state leaders of the party.

The attack came between Omoku, the headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers state and Big Elele, on the way to the Port Harcourt International Airport Road.

The gunmen opened fire immediately the sighted the convoy of the APC leaders.

But the heavy return of gunshots by the security personnel attached to the convoy of the APC leaders forced the assailants to take to their heels.

The National leaders of the APC, lead by Deputy National Chairman (South) Segun Oni, who represented National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun, and state leaders led by the deputy governorship candidate during the April 11, 2015 election, Asita Honourable, were in Omoku to sympathise with the victims of the politically-motivated killings and beheadings.

Most of victims are members of the APC.
