Man Who Bombed Club After Been Denied Entry To Hang

A man suspected to be behind the 2012 grenade attack on Bella Vista club in Mombasa has been sentenced to death.

Thabit Yahya is said to have been among two other people who hurled grenades into the club and shot at a guard who denied them entry into Bella Vista.

The guard, Mary Cheptirim died and five other people injured in the incident.

According to Standard, Thabit also sustained injuries in the attack and had to spent two months in hospital.

The Star adds that he was arrested in May 2012 by Anti-terror Police who recovered from him several magazines and other documents linking him to the attack.

While delivering his judgment at the Mombasa Law Courts, judge Martin Muya said there was sufficient evidence against the accused and sentenced him to death.
