A man has been hit and run over by a lorry carrying sand in Ongata Rongai in the outskirts of Nairobi.
The incident took place along the busy Mbagathi Way when the lorry which was carrying sand lost control and rammed into the man.
He died on the spot.
Police at the scene had a tough time dealing with traffic that built up immediately after the incident.
The driver of the lorry meanwhile, escaped in the aftermath of the accident.
” We will catch up with the driver since we have details of the lorry and owner,” a policeman at the scene whose name is withheld as he is not authorised to speak to the media told News24.
The body of the man was transported to the City Mortuary in Nairobi.
