Speaking in Nairobi on Tuesday, Kabando said and that anyone who has evidence over the allegations should come forward instead of spreading propaganda.
He said all leaders should mobilize potential voters to register ahead of the 2017 polls instead of fuelling violence, as witnessed in Kariobangi.
“It is a good idea to mobilize people to register as voters to enable them exercise their constitutional right. All leaders should do this to ensure that the exercise is successful and IEBC attains its targets,” Kabando said.
The MP backed calls by a section of Jubilee leaders to take over the Nairobi gubernatorial seat from the opposition come 2017.
“I strongly support the calls for Jubilee to take over the Nairobi governorship post because everybody who resides in this city should have a stake in it, including its leadership,” the legislator said.
However, his Ruaraka counterpart, Tom Kajwang’ differed with his remarks, saying it is wrong to influence people to transfer as voters.
“This should be done willingly by an individual, but what we are witnessing is the mass transfer of voters by Jubilee and these people are being paid.
“Let me hope they will also facilitate them during the time of voting or else their strategy will backfire,” Kajwang’ said.
He went ahead to appeal to the electoral commission to quickly deal with such incidents to ensure that it conducts free and fair elections.
“IEBC has the responsibility of conducting free and fair elections and this starts with the voter registration,” Kajwang’ added.
