Johannesburg – A 49-year-old man has allegedly hacked his wife of 13 years to death before hanging himself from the ceiling of his living room.
According to a Daily Sun report, the South African native was so overcome with jealousy that he decided to take his wife’s life and his own as a result of their tumultuous relationship.
The body of the man, identified as Mmolawa Rankwe, was discovered by his mother-in-law when she visited his residence in search of her daughter.
Upon entry into the house, Rankwe’s body was discovered dangling from a wire and officials in the area were promptly alerted.
Shortly after their arrival on the scene, police found the corpse of Rankwe’s wife covered in blood and wrapped in blankets underneath the bed in the main bedroom of the house.
Aviva Magolego, Warrant Officer on the case, has revealed that a murder case has since been opened, as well as an inquest docket.
