Abuja – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday grilled Rear Admiral Amaechina Alison-Madueke, husband of the embattled former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The former naval chief was picked up from his Abuja residence for questioning.
Madueke was questioned for several hours by EFCC operatives at the Abuja head office of the anti-graft agency.
The interrogation of Madueke followed the discovery of about $600 000 in his personal accounts.
Madueke made written statements to EFCC interrogators and was allowed to go home.
He was also asked to return to the EFCC at a later date to answer more questions.
The anti-graft agency, however, seized his travel passport to restrict his movement to Nigeria, pending the conclusion of its investigation.
Diezani, who is a cancer patient in London, has been under intense probe by the present administration over alleged high-scale illegal financial transactions and money transfers in office.
She is also facing court trial in the United Kingdom for a similar offence.
