Akure – The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) have indicated that they would not participate in the April 23 local government elections in Ondo State, reports New Telegraph.
The two political parties hinged their decision to boycott the elections on the composition of the state electoral umpire which they said would do the biding of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
The party said they would rather focus their attention on the governorship election.
However, 11 parties have indicated their interest to participate in the election.
The parties have already conducted primaries to pick candidates for the elections.
