Poor Parenting To Blame For Societal Misfits, Experts Say

Parenting is a God give responsibility that one can nary run away from. As one expert posits: “It is easy to dodge our responsibilities as parents, but it is not easy to dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities as parents.”

Pundits conversant with matters of parenting say when kids fail to meet their potential and turn out to be a nuisance to the society, that could be largely pegged on poor parenting.

When children become failures in life, it does not really matter who was wrong! Whether it was the mother, father, or the child, it is not important to know! The consequences, like stench from rotten garbage, hits the parents the hardest.

People will be quick to quip that your son or daughter is a failure in life. That is when parents and guardians, as expected of human beings, would begin to shift blame to the state, society, teachers, the church, friends of their children and to the children themselves.

Parents should be the first teacher to their children and thus should set up the foundation on which other “teachers should build on.”

If you build a firm foundation for your children, every other teacher will build on that firm foundation. If you set up a lousy foundation for your children, it does not matter who will be building on it in future, whether it will be teachers at school or pastors at your local church, the house will one day “come tumbling down.”

When your children become sexually immoral, drug addicts, porn addicts, academic dwarfs and social misfits, you are now dealing with the consequences of dodging your responsibilities as a parent.

Parents teach their children values and teachers teach them the value of those values. So as a parent, what values are you teaching your children, what foundation have you laid for them?
