Habedi’s friend, Nkululeko Chauke said Manqele and his girlfriend, identified as Masego, were both intoxicated when the four had left a Sandton club that morning.
“I know with Sindi, she was stumbling a bit outside the club when we were leaving,” he said, saying he and Masego had to practically carry her inside the house when they arrived home.
He said Manqele and Habedi had also joined two other friends in smoking a marijuana joint when they arrived at the club.
Manqele is on trial for Habedi’s murder after she fatally stabbed him at his house shortly after they left the club.
She has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge, alleging she acted in self-defence when she stabbed him.
Chauke has testified the couple had earlier had an argument at the club where Manqele accused him of flirting with his ex-girlfriend.
Habedi’s relatives have testified the fight continued at their Alexandra home as the pair was heard arguing shortly before the hip hop rapper was stabbed.
The trial continues.
