Polokwane – A dangerous suspect who escaped from the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court last month will be back in the dock on Tuesday.Police spokesperson Colonel Ronel Otto said Madala Daniel Mhlongo was rearrested on Monday night in his hideout in a secluded area between Letsitele and Nkowankowa.
Mhlongo was awaiting trial for a series of crimes he allegedly committed in the Ritavi and Letsitele areas, including murder, hijacking and armed robberies, mostly at businesses.
But last month, he and other suspects overpowered a police officer and drove off with the police van.
Otto said the details of their escape are still under investigation.
Mhlongo will be appearing in court on a charge of escaping from lawful custody.
