South African Govt Shut Down Consulate in Lagos, Nigerians Accused of Over Hyping Xenophobic Attacks

The South African government has shut down its consulate in Lagos, Nigeria after anti-Xenophobia protests were held outside it.

Mail & Guardian reports that South African consul general in Nigeria, Sam Monaisa, said in an email to the South African business forum in that country that the closure would remain in force until Thursday.

The Consul General also accused Nigerians of using social media to blow an already tense situation in South Africa out of proportion and stoking emotions.

  1. Sam Monaisa, may everything that happened to all foreigners happen to you and your family member so that you can know what it is to be passionate with your fellow human being next time you have the opportunity. Bastards, all your businesses in Nigeria will soon be shot down, you milk from foreigners and yet kill them…God will judge you all.
