WATCH: South African Actor, Joe Mafela, Laid To Rest

Hundreds of mourners have arrived at the UJ Soweto Campus to say their final goodbyes to veteran actor Joe Mafela.

According to Metro police spokesperson Edna Mamonyane, Mafela died following a car accident on Saturday, 18 March. The accident happened before 22:00 on the M1 North in Johannesburg.

Anthony Mafela broke the news that his uncle Joe Mafela had died on Twitter on Sunday, 19 March.

Joe Mafela was honoured at a memorial service at the Joburg Theatre on Thursday.
