Rob Forbes and Fix Moeti are leaving 5FM.
The presenters, who made up The Forbes and Fix Show, took to their individual social media accounts, sharing the announcement with fans.
In a statement posted on his Instagram account, Rob Forbes said he is “incredibly grateful” and “proud” to have been part of the station for such a long time.
“But now, 9 years and more than 7 000 hours later, it’s time to put a fullstop on the final broadcast [sic],” he wrote.
According to the presenter, leaving the station was no sudden move.
“This has been the plan, in consultation with 5FM management, since early 2020, and this last year broadcasting through Lockdown has been one of the most interesting years we have had, and I am happy we were able to be a part of it.”
Rob also made it clear that there is “no new show lined up somewhere else”.
“That was never the goal. Radio is one thing, and I am far too interested in far too many things to make this one thing the only thing. So this is my radio retirement too, for now. It is time to go and do the other things I have planned, and I’m really excited to finally be able to do so.”

Similarly, Fix posted a statement to her Instagram account as well, writing: “2432 shows later and its officially time to drop the mic. I have served in the radio broadcasting industry for 12 years.”
In a message to Rob, she added: “To my work husband, Robert Andrew Forbes… I stand to be corrected but we might just be the longest standing duo on 5FM to date. We have experienced amazing moments in life and have had the opportunity to share those moments live on air with our listeners everyday. I do not take any of it for granted. Your love for radio and your professionalism on-air is admirable. Take care of yourself homie.”
Fix ended her statement with a powerful message to all women in radio. “It will not be an easy journey for you but you can succeed,” she wrote, adding: “Don’t make it a competition, just support one another because we are all going through the same struggles. Her win does not mean you lose. Clap for her, support her, encourage her.”
