Reigning Miss Supranational Lalela Mswane was advised to cancel a trip on Thursday morning, “due to health concerns”.
Mswane was scheduled to travel to Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday for “a historic first visit” for a Miss Supranational beauty queen.
However, in a statement on social media, the Miss Supranational Organisation said: “After a consultation with her doctor, Lalela Mswane has had to call off her trip to Côte d’Ivoire due to health concerns.”
The organisation apologised to “the management, staff and sponsors” of Miss Supranational CI and the people of Côte d’Ivoire.

Mswane’s cancelled trip comes nearly two weeks after she served as a judge on the panel for the 2023 Mister Supranational South Africa.
The 30-year-old Tylo Ribeiro from Pretoria was crowned in a glitzy event on Saturday, 22 April. He will compete internationally at the Mister Supranational global contest set to be held in Poland on 15 July.
