South Africa Doctors Say Former Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki Is Responding Well To Treatment

Former Kenyan president Mwai Kibaki has been admitted to the Netcare Sunninghill Hospital in Johannesburg.

The retired president was taken into the facility on Sunday for specialised treatment after spending the day at Karen Hospital in Nairobi where he had been rushed after suffering a minor stroke.

Doctors attending to him said he was responding well to treatment, with sources confirming that he was “awake and talking”.

According to Standard, a close associate of the family said that the 84-year-old former leader was in a very upbeat mood and could be discharged from the hospital by the end of the week.
