Frank Ocean is demanding his father dismiss the $14million lawsuit filed against him.
He also suggests that the complaint is barred by applicable statutes of limitations.

In February, the ‘Blonde’ star was sued by his father Calvin Cooksey for defamation after accusing him of using a homophobic slur when he was a child.
The essay was written in the wake of the Orlando Pulse nightclub massacre that claimed the lives of 49 LGBTQ people.

The original claim from Cooksey asserted that Ocean, “published this falsehood for the financial success of his new album “Blonde”, and to ruin his father.”
In a legal document obtained by Pitchfork details Ocean’s response to these claims.
Reportedly, Ocean admitted “he wrote the published essay” and argues that “the essay speaks for itself.”
Ocean then posits that the allegations are “statements of opinion, and thus not the proper subjects of a libel claim.”
