Molo member of Parliament, Jacob Macharia has told president Uhuru Kenyatta to stop attacking the International Criminal Court (ICC) because the attacks are denting his international image.
Macharia said that persistent attacks on ICC by president Kenyatta is ruining his good international image and turning him into an enemy of the west.
Speaking Monday in Nakuru town, Macharia said Uhuru should let ICC be especially after all the Kenyan cases collapsed.
He said continued attacks by the President and his deputy on ICC is making them appear as if they don’t respect judicial institutions.
He wondered why the Jubilee leaders were attacking ICC when the same court had terminated all the cases that were facing the six Kenyans.
“It’s no use attacking and demonizing ICC in every forum we get. ICC did what we wanted by terminating all the cases and for that I don’t see any point of us attacking it and in fact we should be praising it for terminating the cases,” said Macharia.
“The President should desist from attacking ICC because it will ruin his international standing and image,” he said.
Macharia said Kenyans leave ICC alone and concentrate on uniting the country ahead of 2017.
