Police shot at my vehicle intentionally, CORD leader Raila Odinga has said.
The CORD leader’s vehicle was hit by a missile from Police Monday during demonstrations in Nairobi to counter the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision IEBC in Nairobi and he says that the Police were seeking to injure him and his team.
” They know what they were doing. They shot at my vehicle. Were they shooting to say hallo or injure me and my team,” he posed.
Police were forced to use force to disperse the crowds which had converged at the Anniversary Towers headquarters of the IEBC in Nairobi.
Central Police boss Paul Wanjama stated that Police were forced to sew force after the protesters tried to access the IEBC offices.
” We stated that as long as there was no violence then Police would have no issue but clearly there was some effort to cause trouble,” he accused.
CORD have stated that they will continue protesting until the IEBC structure is changed ahead of the 2017 elections.
