The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has forced the Special Assistant to Governor Ayodele Fayose on Parliamentary Affairs, Samuel Ajibola, to resign his appointment, reports Daily Post.

Ajibola resigned over the economic situation of the state.

Ajibola in his letter of resignation said he quit the Ayo Fayose-led administration “on basic developmental issues and the economic situation in the state which he said he can no longer pretend over.

It was gathered that Ajibola fell out with Fayose after he visited the house of the former Governor Segun Oni to celebrate Christmas with the latter last December.

It was also  gathered that Ajibola’s meeting with a party elder, Clement Awoyelu did not go down well with Fayose.

Fayose allegedly accused Ajibola of holding meeting with his political opponents.

Ajibola according to Punch was the only PDP member in the House of Assembly before Fayose won the election.

He was later joined by six All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers who defected on the day Fayose was sworn in.

The governor has accepted Ajibola’s resignation and appointed Alexander Adeojo as replacement.
