The Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer is officially set to perform in Uganda at the Lugogo cricket oval on Friday, October 25th.
Evoke Uganda, the organisers of the show, announced the news at a press briefing held on Monday where they also revealed the ongoing preparations to pull-off a memorable concert.
“It’s been a longtime coming prepping for this show. My team and I have equipped ourselves with well-suited sponsors, partners and service providers to enable us put on a show for the ages. Aside from the main show, there’s a meet and greet at Thrones and an after party in the works. There’s a lot to look forward to this October.” Said Timothy Bukenya, curator of Evoke Uganda.
Patoranking will share the stage with Ugandan acts including Vinka, Cindy, Gravity Omutujju, Big Trill, Bennie Gunter, and John Blaq among others.
The event will also feature showcases from several deejays including Sesse, Naselow, Cisse, Fem DJ, Kasbaby, Albreezy, Mackus and Irakoze.
“’We are really excited to finally see this through and host Patoranking in our beautiful country for the Wilmer Concert. The fans have been eagerly waiting. Thanks to Patoranking and team for the mutual love and cooperation they have extended to us over the year,” said Blessing Bekunda – Co-founder Ubuntu Connect, who are event partners.
Meanwhile, rumours of Patoranking’s Kampala show were sparked off after part of his team from Nigeria visited the country earlier on this year to promote his latest album, “Wilmer”. Named after his daughter, it is his sophomore album and features 12 tracks with collaborations from several musicians across the continent including Kenya’s Nyashinski, South Africa’s Busiswa, and Nigeria’s Davido among others.
