Nigerian Pastor Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for R**ing Church Member

Feyi Daniels, the pastor of a Lagos-based church, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for r**ing a church member.

On Friday, January 26, the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court announced the punishment.

According to local media sources, the 23-year-old victim is Daniels’ assistant and the founder of “I Reign Christian Ministry”.

He also received a three-year prison sentence for s**ually abusing a 19-year-old church member.

According to a statement released by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), the two sentences will run concurrently, and his name will be added to the state’s Sexual Offenders Register.

The judge, Rahman Oshodi, branded Daniels as a liar who did not care about the facts.

In his defence last year, the suspect stated that he believes three of the four women accusing him of s**ual assault colluded against him.

Daniels claimed that one of the ladies lied about him because he did not assist her in resolving her financial concerns.

In May 2023, the preacher was remanded in court after reportedly r**ing a 25-year-old lady at his Lekki home.

The church member informed the court that the priest had intercourse with her during a prayer session while speaking in tongues.

Rape violates Section 260 (2) of Lagos State’s Criminal Law, 2015.
