The Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) has come out today to call for dialogue over the current crisis surrounding the country.
In a press conference today, the SUPKEM chairman Abdulghafur Al-Busaidy said the current mayhem in the country is unhealthy and should be contained immediately.
“The situation at the moment is not only dangerous for the people but also the economy and the image of our country,” said Albusaidy.
He said SUPKEM stand is to urge both the sides to come together and talk about this issue without claiming lives of Kenyans.
“It is our urge that both sides come into sort of dialogue and be able to compromise some of their stands to bring stability in the country,” he added.
The CORD brigade led by Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Senator Moses Wetangula have led a series of demonstrations to force Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) out of office.
Every Monday, the streets of Nairobi along Waiyaki and University Way have been a no go zone with Police and Protesters clash.
Yesterday, the demonstrations were held in Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa and Kakamega that claimed the lives of 2 people and several others injured.
These has prompted Religious organizations to shout out and call for dialogue.
