As many as 10 people confirmed dead and about 30 people wounded in an explosion at Brussels Airport early Tuesday morning, public broadcaster RTBF said, citing sources at the nearest hospital, where casualties were taken.
The cause of the explosions was not immediately clear but the news agency reported that shots were fired and Arabic was shouted before the two explosions.
Another explosion was heard at Maelbeek metro station in Brussels, close to the EU institutions, Belgian broadcaster RTBF said.
Meanwhile, all flights and metro services at the airport and the metro station respectively have been suspended.
