Kenyan rapper Henry Ohanga popularly known as Octopizzo has for the first time spoken on joining politics.
While responding to a fan who asked him to say the things he would do for his constituents if he was elected MP, Octopizzo said that he did not want to be a Member of Parliament.
He went ahead to say that not all leaders were politicians and all politicians were not leaders, reiterating that artistes like him should be mouth pieces to social challenges in communities.
The ‘Oliel’ singer further stated that he was already using his position as an artiste to address the challenges in society.
“Staki kua MP Not all Leaders are politicians and all politicians aren’t Leaders, Artists should be the mouth piece or mirror of their communities & should always be aware of their social challenges, & am using my platforms to address & bring to attention the challenges,” he wrote on Twitter.
Octopizzo’s words came after he joined young political leaders for a rally at Kibra when they hosted Ugandan opposition MP Bobi Wine who was in Kenya for a five day official visit.
The young leaders included Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Activist turned politician Boniface Mwangi among other leaders.
