Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta authorized into legislation an anti-doping bill called to prevent a restriction from the Rio Olympics of a country well known for its runners, the president office claimed on Friday.
Video clip from the president office showed kenyatta at State House authorizing the bill, flanked by elderly government officials and also sportspersons as well as females.
The law, demanded by the World Anti-Doping Agency, will criminalise doping in a country with a history of middle and long-distance running excellence, but which has been tainted by several doping cases in the recent past.
