The number of COVID-19 infections in Kenya rose to 92,853 on Wednesday with 394 new cases reported by the ministry of health.
The ministry noted that the new confirmed cases were derived from 5,752 tests conducted in the past 24 hours. Of the new cases, 367 were Kenyans while the remaining 27 were foreigners.
The ministry also announced 10 new COVID-19 related deaths, taking the country’s total numbed of fatalities to 1,614.
Kenya is one of eight countries in Africa that have registered more than 90,000 COVID-19 infections.
Its caseload is the seventh-highest, only shadowed by tallies recorded by South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, Ethiopia, Tunisia and Algeria.
Its death toll is the sixth-highest on the continent.
Kenya’s ministry of health also reported that 424 patients had recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 74,403.
