Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Communications Director, Philip Etale has branded President Uhuru Kenyatta as a ‘dictator’ saying no Jubilee MP dares to query his orders.
Etale’s attack on Uhuru came after Deputy President William Ruto accused ODM leader Raila Odinga of ‘political slavery’.
According to Ruto, Raila is engaging in retrogressive politics that focuses on servitude and censuring of its members, something that Etale does not agree with at all.
“When Raila Odinga tries to bring order in ODM as the party leader, he is branded a dictator, the Deputy President calls him names… No.
“Dictatorship is when Raila Odinga advises ODM MPs to toe the party line. But not when Uhuru Kenyatta commands Jubilee MPs to go against a collective agreement and demands that they vote his way. Case in point; Budget and Appropriation Bill that was passed last week. That is democracy! When MPs retreated to the Speakers’ Kamukunji and agreed on a common stand, the President angrily told Jubilee MPs, no, do what I say,” claimed Etale.
He said there is a lot of dictatorship in Jubilee and not in ODM as claimed by a section of Jubilee leaders.
“No MP from Jubilee Party dares to raise a finger to question orders from their party supremo. Their response is a uniform ‘yes sir’,” Etale said.
