Kenya: No Food And Water For CORD Politicians In Police Custody

Policemen have denied CORD politicians food and water in remand after they were arrested for hate speech allegations.

Through lawyer Harun Ndubi, the politicians, who are being detained in various Police stations they say that they have been denied basic amenities in remand, which is against their rights.

They were also denied the right to have visitors, which according to Ndubi violates the law.

” My clients have been treated with disregard and thus are seeking to have their bond applications considered,” he said in his submission for bail Wednesday.

The leaders are being detained for various comments made during the week regarding the actions of Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who was quoted as saying that he will seek the assassination of CORD leader Raila Odinga.
