Devolution Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has accused former Prime Minister Raila Odinga of fighting government in order to conceal cracks in the opposition leadership.
Kinjuri claimed that Odinga has strategies of hiding battles within his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party and within the Opposition, CORD coalition.
Speaking Sunday in Nyeri town at St.Cuthbert PCEA Church, the CS also denied inciting Mathare MP Steven Kariuki, Ababu Namwamba (Bundalangi) and Mpuri Aburi (Tigania East) to leave the Orange party.
“CORD is divided and the cracks are visible. There is an exodus in the opposition and Raila is planning to destabilize the government to conceal the cracks. It has been reported that Kisii leaders are also planning to leave ODM and form their own party. I have not incited anybody,” he said.
The former Laikipia East MP further urged Church to pray for national unity and for the government.
“Church has a responsibility of praying for this nation and for its leaders. Kenyans should live in unity whatsoever,” said Kinjuri.
The CS also asserted that Central Kenya electorates will support Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid in 2022 as a reciprocal for successfully supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013 and expectedly in 2017 elections.
Kiunjuri said those casting doubts on Central Kenya’s support are seeking attentions and are misinformed.
He asked regional voters to get ID cards, register as voters in high numbers and use their numerical strength to make DP Ruto Kenya’s fifth President.
The CS was accompanied by Tigania East MP Mpuri Aburi, Nyeri politician and Tana Water services board chairman Wachira Keen and Nyeri speaker David Mugo.
