Nigerian R’n’B artist, Teckno who was in the country on the 28th July 2018 to perform at woodlands stadium has disclosed that he failed to perform because Zambian local artists were begging for money from him.
The Nigerian singer who was hosted by Good life Events says five local artists who visited him while at his lodge at Protea hotel wanted to worship him for money.
He says he was disturbed by the high level of poverty among Zambian Local artists and wanted the show to be cancelled instead to empower the poor people.
“I was disturbed, everyone in Zambia wanted me to perform to my ability, But that did not happen because some of the people who were begging me for money and almost worshipped me where at the show. How can I diss my fellow artist? Zambian promoters must start promoting local talents and the music industry ” he observed.
“To those local artists, I did you a huge favour, You don’t ask for money to an international artist like me if they had begged me to feature in their song I would have done so without any cost. I have the love for the music industry and Zambian Musicians too. I want to see them on another level.” He said.
The Nigerian singer failed to perform after he showed up around 03:00 hours. Only Artists like Slap Dee, Bobby East and Macky were able to set the stage alive from 23:00 to 03:00 when Teckno showed up.
