Suspected cult members invaded the Anibaba community in the Ikorodu LGA of Lagos State on Sunday, shooting a resident dead and injuring two others.

According to a Punch report, the deceased, identified as Omotayo, was a job seeker who had been hit by stray bullets when the gunmen opened fire on shops within the area.

The two other victims, 74-year-old Gbemisola Mumini and her 4-year-old granddaughter Timofe were alleged to have been outside one of the shops when the incident took place.

Upon a visit to the area on Monday, a correspondent had found that shop owners in the area were trapped indoors for fear of another attack on their properties.

“The policemen had not been here to make any arrest. Both mama and her grandchild are still in the hospital, receiving treatment,” revealed Mumini’s daughter, who asked to remain anonymous.

SP Dolapo Badmos, PR Officer for the Lagos State Police, confirmed the attack but stated that they had not received any reports of deaths occurred during the incident, GistMaster reports.
