Floyd Mayweather Says He’s Better Than Muhammad Ali.. See Mike Tyson’s Reaction

If you’re sick of hearing about Floyd Mayweather and about the possibility of a fight (which will probably never happen) against Conor McGregor, you might be annoyed at what you’ll read next. Low and behold, Mayweather is making headlines again, but this time it’s for something he said over two years ago.

When anyone thinks of Muhammad Ali, they think of a legend and a tireless competitor who fought harder than most boxers can ever imagine. Whether you prefer Mayweather or Muhammad Ali, there’s no doubting that putting any disrespect on Ali’s name should be considered a sin.

Two years ago, Mayweather said that he’s a better fighter than Muhammad Ali…and Mike Tyson had a lot to say about it

Mayweather is no stranger to saying offbeat and unpopular things, and his comment about Muhammad Ali is nothing new.

If you’re a fan of boxing, Mayweather, or any type of fighting, you’re probably already well aware about the comment Mayweather said about Muhammad Ali a few years ago.

floyd02

Mayweather admitted on television that he was better than Muhammad Ali, and people around the world were in an uproar about it.

floyd03

Recently, a fan on Twitter dug up a video of Mike Tyson responding to Mayweather’s ridiculous claim, and it’s gone viral.

floyd04

The video was taken in the days leading up to the infamous Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight back in May of 2015. A reporter holds a microphone up to Tyson’s face and asks him if he heard about Mayweather’s comments about Muhammad Ali.

floyd05

“Have you heard about Floyd talking about Muhammad Ali?” The reporter asks.

floyd06

“He’s very delusional,” Tyson starts. “If he was anywhere near that realm of Muhammad Ali, he would be able to take his kids to school by himself.”

floyd07

Tyson continues to bash Mayweather by saying: “Greatness is not guarding yourself from people, greatness is being accepted by the people.”

floyd08

“He can’t take his kids alone to school by himself. He’s a little scared man. He’s a very small scared man,” Tyson said.

floyd09

Tyson is no stranger to voicing his opinion about Mayweather. Recently he did an interview with Sirius XM radio, where he was asked about what he thought about a fight between Mayweather and McGregor and what it would do to boxing.

floyd10

“Only way it can ruin boxing is if McGregor goes and boxes Floyd because he’s going to look really ridiculous boxing him,” Tyson said.

floyd11

“But if he goes in there with the UFC stuff, now this could be pretty interesting,” he finished.

floyd12

Anyone who knows anything about the possibility of this fight probably already knows that if McGregor and Mayweather were to battle it out, McGregor would not be allowed to use any type of MMA skill outside of boxing.

floyd13

As far as it goes with the possibility of this fight, it seems like everything is still up in the air.

floyd14

“We haven’t even got there (financial discussions) yet,” UFC frontman Dana White recently said in an appearance.

floyd15

Whatever happens with the Mayweather Vs. McGregor fight, one thing that’s certain is that both fighters have their fair share of haters. They both have big mouths and are known to say some pretty outrageous things, so it’s only a matter of time before one of their mouths gets them into even more trouble.

  1. Floyd, love you boy, but here you are overreaching. You can never be better than Ali. Different time, different weight category, different personalities, and by this I mean, you don’t come close to the GREATEST FIGHTER EVER BORN.
