Durban – The Durban business community will gather at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday to remember late businessman Sifiso Zulu.

Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Zeph Ndlovu said a memorial service would be held to remember, “a good, humble and knowledgeable businessperson”.

Zulu, who is a former president of the Durban Chamber, died last week on Wednesday after a short illness.

“The Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry remembers with gratitude and admiration his stalwart contribution to the Chamber. His contribution both locally and internationally to economic and business development has laid a foundation for the legacy we enjoy today,” said Zeph Ndlovu, President of the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The memorial service will be held at the Mixed Zone Conference Hall at 14:00.

Zulu’s family spokesperson Sifiso Sonjica said the funeral service would be held on September 24 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

The controversial businessman was convicted in 2010 for killing two students and injuring 10 others, including Dudu Ngema, a young woman who was left disabled, when his car rammed into their bakkie. He was drunk and had run a red light.

He served nine months of his three-year sentence before he was released on parole in February 2013, with strict conditions.
