Akon Announces Awesome Plan To Make ‘Akon Lighting Africa initiative’ More Successful

Back in 2014, when Akon launched his Akon Lighting Africa initiative, many people doubted that he would be able to get anything accomplished. After all, he had set the pretty lofty goal of bringing solar electricity to many places in Africa that had been largely ignored.

However, over the last 4 years, not only has Akon created several jobs through his project, but he’s also successful completed dozens of solar electricity projects which has resulted in bringing electricity to places like Mali, Niger, and Benin.

So far, the project has had nothing put positive effects on the people in the community, and Akon hopes to keep the momentum going.

Recently, he has announced that he’s considering making a move that could make Akon Lights Africa even more successful.

According to reports, Akon is “is considering an initial public offering of his Chinese-funded solar business in Africa to fuel an intercontinental expansion.”

This could potentially help the initiative strengthen it’s structure as it moves forward and takes on bigger projects.

Since China was once in a similar situation to the African countries that Akon is helping, project manager, Keno Xiao, believes, “we can feel and understand what they need.”
