Amanda Bynes, an American actress, is apparently receiving inpatient therapy at a new mental health institution.
The 37-year-old former child star, according to TMZ, ‘put herself into an intensive inpatient mental health treatment program in Orange County at the beginning of July.’
It came days after Bynes checked out of a Los Angeles-area outpatient program.
According to the source, the actress no longer wanted to live alone and was looking for a more therapeutic setting.
It was also recognized that the actress needed more help than the previous treatment provided.
According to the publication, Amanda, who rose to stardom in the late 1990s as a Nickelodeon star, was introduced to the new center through her prior one.
Amanda enjoys being around the medical team, therapists, and other patients because it allows her to engage in more social interaction.
The actress is receiving round-the-clock care and counseling at the new rehab facility. There are other programs to assist Bynes refine skills she will need when she leaves the facility.
Sources told TMZ it was Amanda who made the decision to switch up her care.
The All That alum was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold last month, two months after being released from a mental health facility after a three-week hospitalization.
TMZ reported a few days later that her mental hold had been prolonged by at least one week as physicians worked to stabilize her medication and therapy.
The site noted at the time that Amanda functions well when she takes her medication but stops when she feels better, resulting in a downward spiral.
Lynn, the star’s mother, was in charge of making sure she took her prescribed medication while she was previously under conservatorship, which ended in March 2022.
