Prince Harry to Attend King Charles’ Coronation without Meghan

Prince Harry is expected to attend his father King Charles III’s coronation without his wife, Meghan Markle.

King Charles III and Queen Camila will be crowned on May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London.

Buckingham Palace said in a statement on Wednesday that Harry will attend his father’s coronation while Megan will remain in the United States with their two children.

The prince will join more than 2,000 guests at the event.

“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th,” the statement reads.

“The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”

The coronation also coincides with Prince Archie’s birthday.

According to a tweet by Omid Scobie, who claims to be a close friend of the royals, Meghan chose to stay back in the US to celebrate Archie’s birthday.

The news comes amid an ongoing schism between Harry and the royal family, resulting from the couple’s decision to resign as senior members of the royal family and relocate to the United States.

Despite making a few public appearances since then, including attending the funerals of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, this will be Harry’s first major royal event since the family feud.

Harry hinted at attending the coronation ceremony during an interview with ITV in January.

“The ball is in their court. There’s a lot to be discussed, and I really hope that they are willing to sit down and talk about it,” he said.
